In the year 2004, Lavender Winds of the Gorge was established and consisted of 1200 lavender plants placed on land that was part of an old dairy farm that was started in the Spring of 1961. The soil is rich in organic nutrients and minerals and is fed by the glacier waters of the Hood River. This combination provides the ideal conditions for growing lavender. We are an organic lavender farm. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used. Hood River sunshine provides the needed heat creating the most sweet fragrant blooms. The wind plays the role of providing adequate air circulation, thus keeping the lavender plants healthy and free from potential diseases.

Each Summer, U-Pick is available. Come to the farm and pick your own fragrant bouquet. To see a lavender farm in full bloom in colors from deep purple to blues, silver, grays, and white is a sight to behold! In this atmosphere you can sooth your soul and stimulate your senses. You can take "time out" to weave the magic of lavender wands using our Grosso or Hidcote Giant Lavender. Gardens and arbors grace the landscape with pear orchards edging the border. What a pretty sight when in bloom come Spring!

Please do stop by and see us and enjoy the many hand-made
products from our farm to your home!
